About the Major
Social Welfare studies are an applied discipline focusing on individuals, families, groups, communities, and national-level welfare issues. It involves researching and practicing solutions to these problems. The major aims to nurture professional social workers who can effectively deliver social welfare services, solving and preventing various social issues. It provides comprehensive knowledge of social welfare philosophy, practical ethics, human behavior, and the social environment, along with methods to assist individuals, families, groups, and communities in maximizing their social functions. Additionally, the curriculum covers social welfare policies and administration related to establishing and operating welfare systems at a national level. Social Welfare is a practical social science that integrates and harmonizes theoretical knowledge and practical experience from fieldwork and internships in social welfare agencies and organizations. Graduates from the Department of Social Welfare have been working actively as social workers in various welfare institutions and related organizations.
