About the Major

The Department of Japanese Language and Literature aims to provide professionals and regional researchers with an international perspective through systematic research and education on Japanese language, literature, history, and culture. The major offers comprehensive language practice and practical language instruction using various teaching materials and, from the second year, specialized courses in language, culture, and practical fields.

Graduates are equipped with proficient language skills, a broad understanding of Japan, an objective understanding of Korea-Japan relations, and the ability to view Korea and Korean culture from an international perspective, enabling them to actively participate in various fields after graduation as creative and proactive professionals.
