The Graduate School was established on December 5, 1979, with the goal of producing upright leaders based on Christian principles. This is achieved through teaching and researching theories and the application of academic disciplines. The outcome being to foster original abilities capable of contributing to national and social development. The current Graduate School building (Gomyung Woo Memorial Hall) was constructed on November 30, 1983.


The first Graduate School Dean was concurrently held by President Goh Hwang Kyung. On January 29, 1980, the school opened its doors to 19 students in the master’s programs for Education, English Language and Literature, and Home Economics.


As of 2023, the General Graduate School offers 30 master’s programs (including 3 interdisciplinary programs), 18 doctoral programs (including 2 interdisciplinary programs), and 8 integrated master’s and doctoral programs (including 1 interdisciplinary program). Additionally, the Graduate School of Education offers 4 master’s programs, and the Graduate School of Human Services offers 7 master’s programs. The school has produced 4,505 master’s graduates and 523 doctoral graduates and has awarded honorary doctorates to 19 distinguished individuals from home and abroad.
