Since the beginning of the third millennium, the meaning of health has shifted from the traditional model focusing on the physical aspects toward the holistic healing approaches dealing with both body and mind. Hence, the psychotherapy will guide the health of mankind in the 21st century, which underscores the better maintenance of health and prevention of diseases to improve the quality of life for modern beings.
To keep pace with the changing trend in the 21st-century healing paradigm, the SWU Graduate School of Professional Therapeutic Techonology was launched with intent to educate special therapists equipped with theories of psychotherapy and clinical practices based on modern scientific technology, to meet the needs of the fast-paced times, and to serve local communities.
As of 2017, the Graduate School of Professional Therapeutic Techonology offers two master’s and doctorate programs (expressive arts therapy and psychotherapy), with 358 masters and 25 doctors having been produced.
