About the Major
The primary purpose of the Department of Educational Psychology is to nurture capable talents who can describe and explain overall educational phenomena, including schools and social education institutions, based on psychological knowledge and theoretical systems, and contribute to improving the quality and effectiveness of educational activities. Educational psychology is the scientific study of human behavior in educational settings. Therefore, the department focuses on understanding psychological knowledge and methods and applying them to education and counseling fields, emphasizing the acquisition of necessary knowledge and practical experience. The department offers basic theoretical courses in education and psychology, including educational psychology, learning psychology, teaching theory, curriculum theory, educational psychology statistics, developmental psychology, counseling psychology, psychological testing theory, personality psychology, abnormal psychology, and guidance. To balance theory and practice, lectures are supplemented with educational practice in secondary schools and clinical training and practice in various counseling centers and hospitals.
