Goals
1. [Knowledge] To acquire theories and knowledge in chemistry
2. [Virtue] To cultivate character and competence as a proficient chemist
3. [Expertise] To nurture female scientists with an expertise in chemistry for advanced science
About the Major
The Department of Chemistry focuses on studying the fundamental theories and applications of the structure, reactivity, and properties of substances. The goal is to develop academic knowledge and nurture researchers capable of contributing to chemical research and technological developments. In the first year, students study General Chemistry I and II along with laboratory courses. In the second, third, and fourth years, students take specialized courses in organic, inorganic, analytical, and physical chemistry, complemented by in-depth laboratory courses. The department is equipped with advanced instruments such as FT-IR, GC-MS, LC-MS, GC, HPLC, NMR, UV-vis spectrophotometer, ICP, fluorometer, Cyclic Voltammetry, and FE-SEM. Graduates work in national and public research institutes, cutting-edge material industries, biotechnology, petroleum, fine chemicals, environment, dyes, fertilizers, textiles, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food, and clinical laboratories. They also pursue advanced studies, either domestically or internationally, or become patent agents.
